Castagno Fragment

Castagno Fragment is a glass and bronze piece showing the texture of a dead but still standing portion of the Hundred Horse Chestnut tree in Sicily. The bark has fallen away, leaving the grooved texture of the underlying wood. Cast bronze is mounted on the wall, providing support for the textured glass that rotates when gently touched, allowing viewers to see both the textured side and the ice-flat side of the glass.
