Tree time

Collecting the silicone mold from the living tree — without harming it — on the trail at Lapham Peak.

Further views

A lavender clay slab pressed onto the hickory's bark beside the trailhead kiosk.

The hickory with its clay impression in place at the kiosk, a visitor passing on the sunlit path.

The hickory leans over the trailhead kiosk under a canopy of orange autumn oak leaves.
