Tree time

Collecting the silicone mold from the living tree — without harming it — on the trail at Lapham Peak.

Further views

A strip of clay pressed high on the young poplar's pale trunk, backlit by strong sun.

The slender poplar stands alone at the field edge, its sparse yellow leaves catching the light.

The poplar's last golden leaves flutter on bare twigs against a deep blue sky.
