Tree time

Collecting the silicone mold from the living tree — without harming it — on the trail at Lapham Peak.

Further views

The silver maple arches over the sandy trail at Asthma Hill, shading the path with pale green leaves.

The weathered Asthma Hill sign nailed to the silver maple's shaggy trunk beside the trail.

A pink clay slab pressed into the fork of the silver maple's shaggy trunk.

The silver maple's clustered stems rise together, a clay impression clinging low on the bark.
