Tree time

Collecting the silicone mold from the living tree — without harming it — on the trail at Lapham Peak.

Further views

A clay disc pressed onto the mossy trunk of the great oak, its low limb sweeping to the right.

The spreading oak backlit by low sun, the pale clay impression catching light on its trunk.

The great oak crowns a grassy rise, its wide dark limbs spread against the surrounding pine plantation.
